2023 Ford EcoSport Will be Discontinued?
2023 Ford EcoSport – One of the most popular vehicles in the SUV lineup and in the American market is the 2023 Ford Ecosport which offers a variety of upgrades and enhancements to compete in an SUV lineup filled with aggressive well-known brands.
The bad news is that, after a long struggle in this lineup, the Ford Ecosport 2023 is finally rumored to be leaving the market or being discontinued. But there has been no official word on the reason for the dismissal to replace it with a new model that is often rumored namely the New Ford Puma 2023 which has been upgraded and looks fresher.
Ford EcoSport 2023
Previously, in the hatchback lineup was the New Ford Fiesta, which had been discontinued in the US, and finally Ford launched the New Ford EcoSport as its replacement. EcoSport debuted in several countries in 2012 and arrived in America in 2017 to fill the gap. After competing for almost a decade, the New Ford EcoSport 2023 finally failed to compete with several competitors such as the 2023 Hyundai Kona, New Kia Soul, and Honda HR-V 2023.
Finally, it is not surprising that Ford has announced that the 2023 EcoSport will be discontinued in the US market and will likely be replaced with another, fresher and more competitive model. After Ford confirmed that the New EcoSport 2023 will be built and exported to America until the middle of this year, and we really hope Ford replaces it with the 2023 Ford Puma Redesign crossover that has never been offered in the American market.
Although this car is very popular in America, but the sales figures are not able to surpass its popularity. Based on the data we received, Ford sold 60,544 units of the New EcoSport last year during the pandemic, but experienced a drastic drop of 22 percent between January and August this year compared to the same period in 2020 during the pandemic. Another reason that contributed to the decline in sales was due to Ford closing its manufacturing operations in India.
Reportedly, Ford India has suffered a loss of $2 billion over the last ten years, so that eventually the Blue Oval India vehicle assembly plant in Sanand will stop assembling the next generation of Ford vehicles.
Overview of 2023 Ford Puma Refresh
Ford has made another change by discontinuing one of its most impressive lightweight SUVs. In terms of price, the 2023 Ford Puma is more expensive than the 2023 Ford EcoSport. Of course, in various aspects and the concept of this car looks much different compared to the New EcoSport 2023. The New EcoSport was designed for developing markets and then adapted for the Western market, while the Ford Puma 2023 has been specifically designed to adapt to the European market.
The early debut of the 2023 Ford Puma Concept was launched at the end of 2020, where in the American market Ford struggled to sell their crossovers at a time when SUVs were very popular there.
In terms of the front view, the design offered is almost the same as the Ecosport which is in the form of a frog in front, but it is not too excessive for the vehicle and looks more curvaceous compared to the Ecosport.
Turning to the rear, you will find things that are a bit similar to the vehicle belonging to the 2023 Mazda CX-3 with a combination of taillights with clear lenses.
2023 Ford Puma Price and Model
The latest generation offers various trim models and one of them is the 2023 Ford Puma ST-Line V which is equipped with a chrome exterior and a black contrasting roof. The New Puma ST-Line V 2023 is expected to be priced at around $35,500 with a basic FWD configuration on offer.
Not only that, the 2022, ST-Line V trim is the only one to offer a panoramic sunroof for an additional $2000 or a black contrast roof.
Various upgrades were provided this year, namely, the 2023 Ford Puma Redesign will get a prestige paint job as well as active safety features and driver assistance.
