Beyond its eye-catching exterior, the 2025 Mustang GTD is a powerhouse on wheels. Serving as the street-legal counterpart to Ford’s GT3 racing car, it boasts the potential to conquer the Nurburgring Nordschleife in under 7 minutes – a feat that could make it the fastest car on this renowned track.
The heart of this coupe is a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine. While Ford hasn’t officially disclosed the output, the target is set at over 800 horsepower with a redline exceeding 7,500 rpm. Paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle located at the rear, the GTD ensures a near-perfect 50-50 weight distribution.
To enhance performance and reduce weight, Ford utilizes carbon fiber extensively in the engine hood, fenders, roof, and trunk lid. The car features a titanium exhaust system, and customers have the option to add an available aerodynamics package, complete with an active rear wing.
